Plants produce all food on Earth

Most of us were never taught how to grow them.

They feed every person, every ecosystem, every living thing.

They give us oxygen, cool the air, filter water, and bring life to concrete spaces.

Auckland's city centre is one of the most densely built environments in the country. Green space is precious.

This winter, we’re inviting you to re-green your environment by growing hundreds of seedlings.

Over 10 weeks this June and July, we will support you to grow your own seedlings at home, connect with your neighbours, and help make Auckland's city centre more alive, resilient, and beautiful than it was before.

"Gardeners are ecosystem creators. They are the people who have the ability to create living systems." — Levi Brinsdon-Hall

    • Fruit

    • House plants

    • Cuttings

  • One email a week for ten weeks.

Calling all aspiring greenfingers

This programme is for you if…

You've got access to sunlight and ten minutes a week.

On your balcony, rooftop, shared patio, or maybe some indoor grow lights…

We provide the trays, the seeds, the soil mix, and weekly guidance. You provide the light and the water.

You live or work in Auckland's city centre.

You're part of a community group, building, school, or organisation in the city centre.

Greening the City is designed to build community, not just individual gardens. If you want to bring a group of people together — neighbours, colleagues, residents — help us share this opportunity!

You've tried before and your plants died.

That's not failure — that's the beginning of learning. This programme is built around the most common reasons growing attempts stall, and gives you practical support to get past them. Properly.

“There is always room to make the world more abundant, more beautiful, and healthier.”

Meet Levi

Urban farmer, teacher, and founder of Delicious Revolution

Levi has built productive growing systems in some of Auckland's most challenging urban environments including:

  • OMG Urban Farm
Produced over 21 tonnes of vegetables from a 400m² parking lot.

  • Te Maara Kai o Wirihana
A 6,500m² school garden and food forest where students grow everything from seed.

Levi’s passion lies in education and he spends his time teaching and supporting other people to grow their own food.

“My work is about more than food. It's about reconnecting people with nature, building community capability, and proving you can create life, abundance, and beauty right in the middle of a city.”

Plants are the solution. They always were.

"Power to the plants, and power to the people growing them." — Levi Brinsdon-Hall
